The church is inviting the public to its services this Sunday to recognize the life of the Rev. Fred Winters. Winters’ widow, Cindy Winters, will be one of the speakers.
Winters was shot to death on March 8, 2009. Terry Sedlacek was charged with first-degree murder but has been declared mentally unfit to stand trial.
Sedlacek is in the custody of the Illinois Department of Human Services for treatment.
Cindy Williams says the anniversary services are part of the church’s healing.
