WASHINGTON (AP) _ A new poll suggests that Muslims around the globe remain uneasy about the U.S. and are increasingly disenchanted with President Barack Obama a year after his address to the Muslim world.

The Pew Research Center poll included seven countries with substantial Muslim populations.

The results ranged from just 17 percent of those polled in Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan expressing a favorable view of the U.S., to 81 percent in Nigeria. More than 50 percent of respondents in Indonesia and Lebanon also saw the U.S. positively, compared to only 21 percent in Jordan.

Nonetheless, the survey finds that the U.S. image is holding strong in many other countries and is generally better than it was during much of George W. Bush’s presidency.
