KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) _ At least one American has been killed and three others who are part of a church group were injured in what Ugandan authorities believe was a terrorist attack carried out by a group linked to al-Qaida.

More than 60 people were killed.

The three injured Americans had been at an Ethiopian restaurant in Uganda’s capital, Kampala. The worst carnage happened at a rugby club.

One member of the church group is Kris Sledge, an 18-year-old from Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Sledge says he remembers hearing screaming and people running before blacking out. He says he loves Kampala and is wondering why it would happen. Sledge also says the survivors are “just glad to be alive.”
